About Aparupa Datta

Aparupa Datta is an Associate Programme Officer with CLTS Foundation and has worked in the areas of knowledge management, communications, technical and process support for project implementation in India and Ethiopia. She has experience of working in the field of rural sanitation with the Government and private agencies. She has overseen implementation, capacity building, monitoring and documentation of national level sanitation programme (Swachh Bharat Mission – Gramin) in India. She takes keen interest in research on socio-environmental dynamics. She has conducted an independent research titled ‘Living on the Edge-Vanishing and Vulnerable Islands, Sundarbans, West Bengal’ which is an attempt to document the land use and land cover changes over the years in the Sundarbans - UNESCO Natural Heritage Site through oral histories. She is a post graduate in Ecology, Environment and Sustainable Development from the Tata Institute of Social Sciences (Guwahati)
